How can toddlers understand seasons? Well, they can’t, really. But with the Montessori 3-period lesson, you can give your toddler a good introduction to the seasons (or any concept).
We’ve been introducing my 22-month-old granddaughter, Zoey, to fall concepts. That’s a bit tricky, since we live in San Diego. Where we have fall themes available in real life, we let Zoey have hands-on experiences with them. Some fall themes are introduced or reinforced through pictures. Here’s how we used the 3-period lesson to introduce fall pictures to Zoey.

Enjoying the DIY Fall Book at 22 Months
We started with a DIY fall book using the Montessori Print Shop autumn season cards from the Toddler Bundle. Zoey LOVES these DIY books, as you’ll see in the video below. Even though a book isn’t necessarily part of the Montessori 3-period lesson, it gave us an extra way to use the 1st period.
