Even with a small budget, you can prepare attractive, hands-on activities for your classroom or home. I have LOTS and LOTS of free resources for you (more every year)! I’ve been publishing posts at Living Montessori Now since April 2010 and themed free printables and Montessori-inspired activities in conjunction with PreK + K Sharing on the 15th of each month since December 15, 2011!
UPDATE: I have posts for current years. To see my latest post like this and current monthly theme, check out my Monthly Themed Activities Category.
Every month on the 15th, I share free printables for a unit study or seasonal or holiday theme along with Montessori-inspired activities I create using the free printables. I typically include a variety of activities for skill levels from preschool (sometimes toddlers) through early elementary.

Before 2017, I didn’t have a designated shelf for my themed activities. The themed activities were placed on the shelves according to curriculum area (which is another way to display your themed activities). From 2017 on, I’ve had a designated themed shelf (feature shelf) and taken a photo of my themed shelf at the beginning of each unit. You can see the themes shared in my post on how to prepare themed Montessori shelves. I update it each month.

Scotch Thermal Laminator – my favorite laminator for printables … inexpensive and works great! (Note: You can save time and money while helping the environment by only laminating what you really need to laminate for home use. I now only laminate materials that could get wet or messy (such as printables used with water beads or playdough).
