Election time is both exciting and important … and preschoolers on up can participate in some of the excitement. This would be a great time for a United States election unit study, or you could just add an election book, activity, or mini unit this week to make the interest around a presidential or other election into a learning experience.
There aren’t a lot of Montessori-inspired election units available online. There are a number of Montessori-inspired activities you can do, though, and there are some awesome unit studies on my Pinterest board that would work very well in a Montessori-inspired unit. Following are some Montessori-inspired election activities and my Kids’ Government Activities Pinterest board.
Montessori-Inspired Election Activities
If it’s a presidential election year, many of the Presidents’ Day activities will be perfect. I have a number of Presidents’ Day posts here:

Free President Songs and Rhymes for Circle Time (Music is important in any classroom or homeschool, and many of these songs are perfect for an election unit during a presidential election year.)
Election Unit, Timeline of the Election Process, American Symbols, Election Facts, Mock Election, and Videos of Debate Highlights from We Don’t Need No Education
