I’m totally in love with Montessori language activities and the use of phonics to teach reading. My kids were, too. I always have to smile when I think back on the early Montessori language activities with my son. See “Learning to Read Can Be Just a Fun Game.”
I have a post with a number of language resources: Montessori Language Activities. I also have a number of DIY Montessori language material posts if you’d like to make your own Montessori language materials: DIY Montessori Materials.
We now have a Living Montessori Now YouTube channel with videos for parents!
Here’s one of our most popular videos:
A great place for Montessori language videos is My Works Montessori. You’ll see the list and progression of videos for language (and other curriculum areas) here: My Works Montessori. Here’s the list of My Works language videos on YouTube.
Here’s the first My Works Montessori language video:
“What Is Language?”
You’ll find all the My Works Montessori videos at the My Works Montessori YouTube Channel.
I also like the Info Montessori Channel for clear, simple presentations that are true to Montessori principles. There are only two Info Montessori language videos, although they are very helpful: “Montessori – Language – Written Language – Metal Insets” and “Montessori – Language – Written Language – Sandpaper Letters.”
Here’s the “Montessori – Language – Written Language – Sandpaper Letters” Video
Maria Montessori has Learning to Read in Montessori (8 very short but helpful videos).
Here’s the start of the series: “Learning to Read in Montessori, Part 1″
For the rest of the Free Montessori Video Lessons series, see Free Montessori Video Lessons Online.

This is a brilliant round up of resources as always! Thanks for linking up with Tuesday Tots. I’ve pinned this to the Tuesday Tots board and I’m thrilled to be featuring it on my blog today. http://www.oneperfectdayblog.net/2013/06/18/5-fun-ways-to-learn-the-alphabet/

I loved the progress that my son made with his language learning after we enrolled him into a Montessori school. Thanks for the resources I will have to share with my wife.
