It isn’t Thanksgiving everywhere in the world today, but I want to use this day to express special gratitude to you, my amazing readers, who are such an important part of my life and blog! I’m always grateful for my family and in-real-life friends … and I’m always grateful for my online friends, too.
I’m also eternally grateful to Maria Montessori, who profoundly influenced my teaching and the way I raised my own children (“Why I Used Montessori Principles in My Parenting Philosophy”).
I’d like to share a Montessori video with you on this day of Thanksgiving. It has some great examples of Montessori in action and some wonderful insights on learning and the parent’s role:
“Montessori: Learning for Life ”
If you’d like to learn more about my family and my thoughts on positive family values, check out my post yesterday at Raising Figure Skaters: Gratitude for Positive Family Values.
Happy Thanksgiving !

What a lovely post. Great video too– hope you don’t mind if I link your post with the video.
I’m Canadian so we’ve already celebrated Thanksgiving, but I’m thankful for this website. I agree with the comment above that you provide such useful and valuable resources. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Deb!

Hi Deb! Happy day after Thanksgiving! I have a favor to ask! I’m hearing crickets right now for my Holiday Hop (could be the time of year!). I need sponsors for my Mom Lit Holiday Hop that starts on Saturday! (Wish I could afford to pay you!) I have a button to put up on your blog if you choose to be a sponsor. I would link back to you in the Holiday Hop… and on the website, too, plus your blog button can go on the website. Let me know by leaving a comment on my blog! I’m also available if you ever need a return sponsor! Here is the page for the holiday hop, and the code for the button is there: http://www.momswhowriteandblog.com/momlitholidayhop.html.

Happy day after Thanksgiving to you, too, Lisa! I’m afraid the Holiday Hop might not be the best fit for Living Montessori Now. I already have posts about Montessori, homeschooling, parenting, and making a difference. I think it might be too confusing to add another niche. I hope you understand. I think the blog and Holiday Hop are great ideas, though! 🙂

I think there is a lot to learn from Maria Montessori, whether you have a child in a Montessori school or not. Thank you for everything you share on your blog!
