Over the past few years, Safari Ltd. gave me TOOB keys to host as free downloads at Living Montessori Now. Thanks, Safari Ltd.! I’ve always found the TOOB keys very helpful, both as ways to identify the replicas in specific TOOBS and as simple-to-prepare Montessori-inspired activities.
Typically, all you need to do is print out the TOOB Key, laminate it, and cut it out. Then have your child place the matching replicas on or next to the TOOB key.

Hi Deb! I didn’t read every comment so perhaps this has been addressed… are you aware of the inaccuracies on the Horses key? They are laughably inaccurate, which really surprises me because of how realistic and accurate their materials usually are. I wonder if I should contact Safari Ltd. about it? I can make my own, but some poor kid is going to be really confused using the one here. “Fresian” is spelled Friesian and they are always black, “Bay” is a specific coloring of brown with a black mane and tail, “Chestnut” is also a brown color, an Appaloosa should have some spots or coloring (though not always), and a “White Stallion”… well it should be white! 😀 I really appreciate you posting these keys, my 2 year old is loving them right now. Just wanted to make sure you knew about this!! 🙂
